Hello and welcome to Space Systems Integration’s new website. Our old site was a little…meh, and I would shudder when people told me they visited it to learn more about us from it as my partner, Chris Costello, and I hammered it out with only a rudimentary grasp of WordPress and website aesthetics. It was cheesy and static, and one reason that we made this change is that people kept thinking our company only consisted of two people.

I remember my very first website in 1993. Back then, the internet was known as the World-Wide Web which I was beginning to realize was something different and important. So I boned up on HTML and created a whole list of “hotlinks” (or just “links” as they are called now), downloaded an HTTP server for my Mac IIsi, and served some pages out to dozens and dozens of people on the internet. I used to check the server logs every day to figure out from where people had accessed my page, which turned out to be all over the world. I shared pictures of my kids and some of my favorite hotlinks all supported by a bubbly 90’s-era web page background. I suppose I was trying to connect and share a short story about myself with people whom I would never meet.

Nearly 30 years later, SSI is doing the exact same thing. We are reaching out, trying to let people know a little bit about us, what we do, and who we are. You can see what we look like, where we used to work before SSI, find out a little about the work we do now, and learn about the values that make us do what we do.

It is these values that get me. Chris and I worked on them years ago: hashing them out, trying them out on our wives, revamping the wording again and again. We posted them on our first website and then frankly forgot about them. But then people told us they read these values off our site and referred to them in interviews saying how they wanted to work for a company that espoused the principles that SSI did. We were honored that people would take us as seriously as we took our core beliefs – integrity, family, commitment, attitude, and respect. At SSI, we imbue these values into everything we do: how we treat our customers, vendors, teammates, families, and especially each other. We hope these core values are evident throughout this site with which we aim to tell a short story about SSI.

We hope you enjoy our site. You won’t find a lot of hotlinks or bubbly backgrounds, but you will find out about what we do, why we do it, and for some of you, how you can join us. We are always on the lookout for people who want to do amazing things, work with like-minded engineers, and represent SSI’s core values. Please stay awhile, let us know what you think, and get a feel for our story.
