Before SSI
Before pursuing an Engineering career Chris was a Professional Diving Instructor. Diving allowed him to combine his love of the ocean with teaching and travel.
As an engineer he has worked in a number of different industries including underwater robotics, astronomy, oil and gas, consumer electronics, and defense.

How did you get into space?

Chris has always had an interest in space and science. His first exposure to space sciences as an engineer was during his time working at the Institute for Astronomy in Hawaii where he worked with scientists and engineers designing adaptive optics for ground based telescopes.

Favorite planet?

Earth. It supports an abundance of diverse life and is a comfortable place to call home.
