Rob Ordon

Title: Principal Engineer
Education: Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering with a concentration in propulsion
How did you get into space? When I was a kid I would go to the beach with my family and watch the Blue Angels perform, that got me into aerospace.  Once I started working at DARPA, the programs I worked on got higher and faster until they were eventually in orbit.
Favorite planet?  When I was a kid I really liked Saturn because of its rings, however as I’ve gotten older I’ve grown to like Earth because of its diversity
Hobbies outside of work?  Driving around race tracks and playing board games
Bio:  Rob went to college at North Carolina State University where he studied aerospace engineering.  After earning his bachelors degree, he got a job as a DARPA SETA working on the Quiet Supersonic Platform program.  From there he moved on to the Space Surveillance Telescope program.  He went back to NCSU to earn his master’s degree and then returned to DARPA where he worked on the Orbital Express program.  After a stint at the Pentagon, he came back to DARPA and is currently working on the Robotic Servicing of Geosynchronous Satellites program.
