How did you get into the job you have now?
I applied on the company website after a thorough search for the right fit—an alignment in company values, culture, and performance, as well a position that would expand my knowledge of the space domain and the growing US Space Force.
Favorite planet?
Earth (I like it here!), but you can’t beat the beauty of the gas giants. Carly Simon’s reference to “clouds in my coffee” is an easy visual if you need a reminder.
Hobbies outside of work?
Investing and entrepreneurship—I really enjoy studying and reviewing investment options, business acquisition and finance as a hobby. I also enjoy cooking and hosting dinners for friends and family! I make a mean pasta bolognese!
Why did you choose SSI?
My favorite companies in the defense sector are small but mighty in multi-disciplinary competency, tenacity, and leadership and employee engagement. SSI not only fit the bill; they invested in me as an employee, offering above-industry standard incentives that aligned with my credentials and experience. I couldn’t have asked for a more efficient or personable onboarding experience; for colleagues who inspire and challenge me; and for leadership and administrative support that is accessible, responsive, and proactive.
Bio:
What started as a California-native and Political Science major became an East Coast gal and engineer by way of the US Navy in 2011. I’ve been lucky enough to work for some of the best technical and operational teams between the US Intelligence Community and Department of Defense in the last 14 years, having benefited professionally and personally from working among the best and brightest. I currently reside in the DC area with my partner and our two kids.
