Nick Murray
Title:
- Principal Engineer
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, University of Washington
- Master’s Degree in International Relations, Troy University
How did you get into the job you have now?
- A combination of experience, effort, relationships, and (of course) good timing. In my current capacity I support the Space Systems Center’s (U.S. Space Force) Integration Team at the National Space Defense Center (NSDC). It’s an exciting time to be part of this industry.
Favorite planet?
- I have always been intrigued by Mars and how mankind is going to get there. Which reminds me, what did Mars say to Saturn? “Give me a ring sometime!” (Sorry – dad joke alert)
Hobbies outside of work?
- I enjoy working out, jogging, golfing, snowboarding, and coaching my three sons—they are sports fanatics, like me.
Why did you choose SSI?
- I’ve always been impressed by the professionalism and talent of the SSI employees I’ve interacted with. Last fall, I was fortunate enough to receive a job offer with the company, and I accepted without hesitation. I’m thrilled to be a part of the SSI team and help make a positive impact.
Bio:
- I grew up on the West Coast and began my U.S. Air Force career in the ICBM missile silos of Montana. From there, I joined the military space community and have served in a variety of roles in Colorado and California. In addition to my employment with SSI, I am a USAF reservist currently assigned to Space Operations Command (U.S. Space Force). I live with my wife and our three children in Colorado Springs.
